By the end of this course learners will be able to:

  • Understand the causes and impacts of mental health conditions and how to spot signs in someone who may be suffering from poor mental health
  • Know how to support colleagues, family members who are suffering and recognise declining personal mental health
  • Understand the meaning of mental capacity, Duty of Care, issues of consent and safeguarding procedures to follow should a client’s mental capacity be identified as limited
  • Refer to legislation for prevention of radicalisation and terrorism and learn to spot the warning signs and gain support for someone suspected of being groomed by a radicalising influence
