The Nimble story

The concept of Nimble began in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire in 2009.

At the time, online training was available but too expensive or generic for most businesses. Even large blue-chip companies using agencies to create online training found the process was often time-consuming, expensive and very frustrating as they knew their subject matter yet had to rely on others to create and deliver it. With their experience in this sector, our Nimble founders, Neil Hyde and Joe Jarlett, were convinced of a clear gap in the market for a product that would make it super-easy for companies of any size to be empowered to build their own engaging online courses, release them to their teams and track results.

For this to work, our tools had to be easy-to-use, require no prior knowledge of online learning or technology, be time efficient and virtually risk-free.

So, Neil and Joe quit their perfectly reasonable jobs and set about building our solution.

Early 2014, following years of R&D and the addition of our third Director Alex Hathway, we officially launched Nimble at Learning Technologies, Europe’s leading showcase of organisational learning and technology at Olympia in London.

Nimble House

This was our ‘make or break’ moment. To our delight, Nimble got a lot of interest and we gained customers such as Laura Ashley, Ann Summers and Costa Coffee. Our company was off to a flying start! We were placed top of the event exit polls in 2014 and 2015 against industry leaders such as Adobe.

We’re proud to be helping thousands of companies to train their teams and we’re continually looking at innovative ways to improve user experiences, communicate best practice and forge lasting relationships with our customers – because that’s what is most important to us. Many of them have come to us via word of mouth from other Nimble users and that makes what we do even more rewarding.

Neil Hyde, Nimble Elearning

Our Managing Director Neil says “Our core product itself never stands still. It’s continually evolving in response to improved technology, market trends and, of course, customer feedback. However, our mission will always be the same; To empower every company to provide quality, online training to their teams, easily.”.
