Nimble customers were greeted by the cheerful Nimble team and they had the opportunity to network prior to the commencement of the day.

Great to meet the Nimble team in person, and network with like minded people in L&D”

A warm welcome from Nimble Commercial Director Alex Hathway and members of the Nimble team kicked off the packed agenda.
A goody box greeted the attendees at their tables, where they were treated to various Nimble-branded treats. As Nimble is currently working towards becoming B Corp Certified, the importance of sourcing environmentally friendly, zero-carbon, local, recyclable and sustainable packaging and products is of utmost importance to the company.

Hannah Davies, Learning Adviser at Nimble hosted a 45-minute session on ‘Maintaining Quality and Consistency in Your Elearning’ which included creating elearning courses that are well-structured, visually appealing and easy for learners to navigate by creating a high-quality course template. Discussions on how to use clearly named topics and pages, concise instructional text, consistent design elements and key course settings to guide learners effectively were also in full flow.

“Great opportunity to get new ideas and a way to improve courses.”

Kevin Aires (Video Content Coach, Cadenz Video Academy) then hosted his masterclass on ‘The Power of Video: Strategies for Next-Level Learning Engagement’.

Sharing his expertise on using video to take training to the next level, his hour-long interactive session and Q&A let the attendees in on the secrets of creating great-looking video without expensive equipment, and gave practical ways to use newfound skills to engage learners. He showed how a well-planned 20-minute video interview with a key expert or senior leader in an organisation can be transformed into learning content of all types – and just how effective video can be when it comes to building trust and connection.

Learned lots of tips and inspiration for increasing levels of engagement.”

Hannah then kickstarted the afternoon sessions with the highly interactive ‘The Elearning Lifecycle: Beyond the Course’.

In her 30-minute interactive session, questions were posed to the audience using Slido – from identifying a need for training in an organisation to evaluating the impact of an intervention – and everything in between. The chance to discuss current approaches in small groups and the sharing of best practice and easy ways to optimise the training process and keep on top of course updates was enjoyed by all.

The session everyone was buzzing about seeing was Hannah’s ‘Demystifying ChatGPT for Learning’.

Whether they were a keen early adopter or didn’t really have a clue what ChatGPT is, the attendees left this 45-minute highly interactive session with practical ways to use the world’s most famous AI chat tool in their role right now (and she touched on a few alternatives too!).

After Hannah’s overview and live demonstrations of the tool itself (which heard audible gasps of astonishment by the attendees of what could be achieved using AI), some key applications for chat-based AI in planning and drafting elearning programmes were also shared. There was also the opportunity to consider ethical issues and potential pitfalls – and how to avoid them.

“Inspiring session around AI. If I had to choose my favourite session, it would be ChatGPT. I’ve learned so much, it was fascinating.”

No Nimble Community Day would be complete without the Nimble Awards. Now in its sixth year, the awards showcase the incredible achievements of Nimble customers using elearning in their training programmes.

The Nimble Directors Neil Hyde (Managing Director) and Alex Hathway (Commercial Director), scrubbed up nicely in their DJs and Learning Adviser Hannah Davies got the awards off to a great start. The judging process was one of the toughest ever, and the finalists in the categories of Course of the Year, Positive Business Impact and Positive Business Impact, were presented to the audience via informative videos about each finalist. You can watch their videos here.

The very worthy winners were then announced to much applause.
