The 18th October is World Menopause Day, a chance to raise awareness of the menopause and improve health and wellbeing outcomes for women throughout their menopause journey.
Nimble have chosen this day to release their new Menopause Essentials course, a chance for you and your teams to become more confident about making positive changes to your workplace to support your colleagues who are experiencing menopause.
In the workplace, women in their ‘menopausal window’ are often at the peak of their careers. They can be the most experienced, hardworking and powerful members of your team.
But three out of five (59%) working women between the ages of 45 and 55 who are experiencing menopause symptoms say it has a negative impact on them at work. Many women are having to take more absences and leave their careers because dealing with symptoms in the workplace is too difficult.
What can we do to ensure these women can feel able to continue working through their menopause journey?
It can be the case that women who experience symptoms don’t feel able to talk openly and honestly with their line managers. Simple changes in the workplace can make a big difference – by having a more open culture, it might be easier for everyone to start that conversation.
There’s no need to become a medical expert yourself; just a bit of understanding, and the confidence to ask if someone is ok, can be enough to start a positive change. And that’s where the Menopause Essentials course comes in!
If you’re a Nimble Plus customer, this course is available to you free of charge as part of your annual licence. Simply contact your Customer Success Manager and ask for it to be added to your account.
